The Oromocto Food Bank is in need of school supplies to assist children in need returning to school this fall. School supplies for Kindergarten through High School are needed, and can be dropped off in the Food Bank bins located at the Oromocto Sobeys, Superstore, and Giant Tiger. Donations are also welcome at the Oromocto Food Bank, located at 74 Iroquois Ave.

RACE AGAINST THE REDS - Fundraiser for UNB Varsity Reds Cross-Country team. Kids 1km starts at 9:30am then the 5km starts at 10:00am. This event will be held in Odell Park. The Calithumpians will be leaving Officer's Swuare to perform in Wilmont Park at a party thrown by the NB Labour Council. There will be free face painting, a barbecue and much more! Golden opportunities, a show about superheroes will be performed at 12pm, while Little Hall of Heroes, a show about the NB Sports Hall of Fame will be performed at 2:15pm. Come out for an afternoon of family fun!!!

New Maryland Sea Cadets will be having a registration extravaganza from 6pm-8pm at the New Maryland Elementary School. New Members Welcome!!! OPH (Oromocto Public Hospital) Foundation Annual Golf Tournament. To be held at Gage Golf Club. 4 man scramble tee off @ 1pm. $60/person which includes a steak BBQ. Money raised will go towards a new BRONCHOSCOPE which is a piece of equipment that will enhance the services provided by the Oromocto Public Hospital. This piece of equipment is used to find causes of lung problems and may detect cance, signs of infection, excess mucus in the airways, the site of bleeding, something blocking the airway.

Get active and support a great cause during a boot camp fundraiser hosted by Clarenda Price, a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, from 10-11:15am @ Carleton Park (Northside Green). Raindate is set for September 18. There will be five stations spread out over the green, with four cardio and core/strength moves at each station.
